A donor-advised fund is a charitable giving vehicle administered by a third party, such as Fidelity, Schwab or American Endowment fund that allows you to make a contribution for an immediate tax deduction. Those accounts are often invested and can be managed by institutions, like Baird (Marytown’s investment manager), and can be used at various points in the future to make grants to Conventual Franciscan Friars of Marytown. By leveraging a DAF, you get an immediate tax deduction for the gift, but have flexibility as to when the invested funds go to the charity
